Viva Republica, the operator of the financial super app “Toss,” announced that it signed an agreement with the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service (CCRS) for a “credit counseling referral service.”

The two organizations came together on February 1st at Toss’ head office in Yeoksam-dong to hold the business agreement ceremony. The event was attended by Toss CEO Seunggun Lee and CCRS CEO Jae Youn Lee.
With this agreement, Toss is able to provide users with a simple way to apply for free credit counseling directly from the credit score inquiry screen within the app. Users can select the “Consult a Credit Expert” menu to request consultations with professional advisors supported by the CCRS on various matters, including credit management, debt adjustment, personal rehabilitation, bankruptcy, loans for working-class individuals, and more.
“Since launching the industry’s first free credit score inquiry service in 2017, Toss has been committed to empowering users in managing their financial lives,” said Seunggun Lee, CEO of Toss. “We aim to introduce CCRS’s professional counseling service in the Toss app to users and continue promoting the active self-credit management of individuals.”
As of January 2024, over 24 million users have accessed the “My Credit Score” service (for credit inquiry) cumulatively. The service is provided in partnership with credit rating agencies NICE Information Service (NICE) and KCB. Users can check their credit scores based on NICE and KCB standards and apply for credit score improvement services directly from the Toss app.
