Toss Volunteer Toss Peace Goes Plogging for Forest Day

Viva Republica, the operator of the financial super app “Toss,” announced on the 21st that its in-house volunteer group, ‘Toss Peace,’ conducted a ‘plogging’ event at Umyeonsan Mountain in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the International Day of Forests, designated by the United Nations. Plogging refers to an eco-friendly activity that combines jogging with picking up litter.

This event took place on March 14, where about 40 employees from Toss, Toss Bank, Toss Securities, and other affiliates. They cleaned the hiking trail from the entrance of the Mujangaesupgil to the vicinity of the Somangtap. According to Toss Walk, participants collectively walked a total of 276,519 steps and collected trash that filled 30 biodegradable 18L bags.
This plogging event, Toss Peace’s first local environmental cleanup activity, was organized to reflect on the value of forests and raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection in honor of the International Day of Forests. After the activity, participants shared their thoughts, saying, “I realized that even small efforts can contribute to protecting nature,” and “I’m determined to develop habits that reduce waste and prioritize environmental care.” A Toss representative said, “Moving forward, Toss Peace will continue to engage in various activities beyond environmental protection efforts.”
Toss Peace is an in-house volunteer group composed of Toss employees who participate voluntarily. The name ‘Toss Peace’ combines the brand name ‘Toss’ with ‘Peace.’ Since its establishment in June 2023, Toss Peace has actively volunteered at ‘Purme Social Farm,’ under the Purme Foundation, and ‘Hansarang Village,’ a facility for individuals with severe disabilities.
