- Mobile-optimized viewing environment, enhanced with AI avatars and short-form content for added engagement
Viva Republica, the operator of the financial super app “Toss,” announced the launch of the fourth season of its online design conference, "Simplicity." Since 2021, Simplicity has been held to share the process and achievements of realizing Toss’ design philosophy—Design that needs no explanation.

This season’s theme is “Vision-Driven Design,” with a focus on sharing cases where Toss improved its user experience (UX). A total of 14 sessions featured speakers from various roles directly connected to Toss’ UX—such as designers, researchers, writers, and engineers—who introduced the challenges they faced and how they solved them during the service improvement process. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including the development of the design tool “Tosst,” which automatically generates Toss graphics in just three seconds, and efforts to improve app accessibility for users with visual impairment. Attendees could also see how Toss’ design philosophy is applied in actual products.
This year, the conference especially emphasized a mobile-optimized viewing experience for greater convenience. All presentations were produced in a short-form format of under 5–6 minutes, allowing viewers to access the content easily anytime and anywhere. Interactive features that allow direct engagement with the screen were also added for enhanced immersion. In addition, AI avatars were created to represent the speakers’ appearance and voice, enhancing the viewing experience. Each session is available on the Simplicity Season 4 website.
Meanwhile, viewers can participate in the “Apply for a Coffee Chat” event, where they can engage in conversations with the speakers. Applications can be submitted until May 11 by clicking the “Apply for a Coffee Chat” button on the final screen of each session video. Selected participants will be individually notified of the results. “The design of the Toss app is the key to intuitive user experience,” a Toss representative said. “We hope Simplicity becomes a helpful resource for everyone working to solve UX challenges through design.”
