  • ₩240 million donated – Entire second round of royalties from The Money Book
  • ₩120 million each delivered to Habitat for Humanity Korea and The Salvation Army for housing reconstruction and meal assistance
  • Consumer participation campaign “Gathering Hearts for Wildfire Recovery” also underway
  • Viva Republica, the operator of the financial super app “Toss,” announced that it will donate a total of ₩240 million to support residents affected by the recent large-scale wildfires.

The donation amount corresponds to the entire second round of royalties from The Money Book: Guide to Shape Your Future (hereafter ‘The Money Book’), published by Toss in May of last year. The ₩240 million donation will be evenly split, with ₩120 million each going to Habitat for Humanity Korea, an international nonprofit for housing welfare, and The Salvation Army. The funds will be used to provide practical recovery support, such as rebuilding homes and providing meals for those who lost their homes due to the fires.

Habitat for Humanity Korea specializes in rebuilding and repairing homes destroyed in disasters and will be involved in restoring residences damaged by the wildfires. The Salvation Army continues to offer emergency aid to both displaced residents and firefighters on-site.

When The Money Book was first released, Toss pledged to use its profits to support financially underprivileged individuals facing financial difficulties in their daily lives. In line with this commitment, Toss hopes this donation will help wildfire victims facing sudden financial hardship rebuild their lives. Previously, the first round of royalties—₩300 million—was donated in November 2024 to structurally vulnerable groups, including people with borderline intellectual functioning, seniors, and the visually impaired.

Additionally, Toss has launched a consumer participation campaign titled “Gathering Hearts for Wildfire Recovery” to encourage public engagement and support. By simply clicking the “Gather” button on the campaign page within the Toss app, users can trigger a ₩100 donation from Toss on their behalf. The campaign aims to raise a total of ₩200 million, which will be fully donated to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to aid wildfire victims. A “Direct donation” option is also available for users who wish to contribute more.

A Toss representative said, “We hope to provide a small but meaningful contribution so that those who have lost their homes and are suffering from tremendous loss can find the strength to rebuild their lives.”
